I can totally see the whole thing imploding right now. All of the residents finding new homes in all of the surrounding neighborhoods. CAn you imagine living there? The whole thing looks a bit wavey to me. Its kind of making me sea sick.

I have lived here for 5 years. I have lived in FL, in VA, in NV, in CA, in CO, but the friendliest people in the world are in NYC. You can strike up conversations with complete strangers on the street. Strangers help moms carry baby carriages up subway stairs. I remember my first summer here when I saw a man carrying wall panelling down the stairs at a subway in Sunnyside. At the bottom, he handed it to another guy who said, "Thank you." The man said "No problem," and went off the opposite way.

That happens all the time.

I know that this thread is dead, but it occures to me that that's the difference between cons and libs. I really don't feel scared of very much.

New Yorkers aren't afraid, even though 9/11 actually happened here. We ride the subways and go in tall buildings. And vote against Bush.

But that's quite a sweeping statement you've made, Allie. I don't feel "fear" of living with the people in NYC, and I don't fear the hugeness of the artificial surroundings because I'm a Republican. I mean, where's Wall Street???

And there are no "dead threads" here.

I'm glad you like living there, personally, as a person who has her own likes and dislikes that have nothing to do with political party affiliations, it's too big for me.

I do love The West Side Story, though.

No, Annie, I don't think you're scared because you are a Republican, I think that you're a Republican (really, more a social conservative since I think libertarians are misguided, but pretty fearless).

It's true, the traitor has apparently decided that it's no longer a sin against his moon god to try and milk money out of the fame he used to enjoy before he became a Satanist. I am not going to buy it, and if it by some far flung chance gets radio play, I'll switch channels.
